German handheld Pong console by Universum called Multispiel. Everything is contained in one handheld controller and a second detachable paddle. It is the same system as the Radio-Shack (USA) - TV Scoreboard, the Tandy (USA) - Electronic Scoreboard and the Hanimex (Hong Kong) model 666 and 677 in a different case design.

The Universum Multispiel is more compact than most. The main unit houses the game selector, speaker, and controllers for one player - the other rotary controller can split from the main body which is also where the shiver-inducing gun plugs in. It's hard not to notice the distinct resemblance to an old-school gray brick cell phone. The controller for the left player can be detached from the console and is wired to the rest of the machine with a very long cable. You can choose between the games Tennis, Soccer, Squash and Pelota, but in fact all these games are just Pong games with slight modifications (Although Pelota is a one-player game).

With the Universum Multispiel you can also play the 7th hidden and undocumented "Handicap" game, a soccer variant where on player has 3 Bats and the second has only 2. You need to NOT select any game with the selector and the game appears on the screen.

Like all old videogames the Universum TV Multispiel was connected to antenna input jack of the TV (At this time TV sets normally didnt have any other inputs). The signal can be set to use channel 3 or 4. The console gets its power supply from six Mignon (AA) batteries. You can also use it with a 9V AC/DC Adapter (not included).

Das Universum Multispiel hat ein seltenes Gehäusedesign in Form eines Telefonhörers, auf das notwendigste reduziert. Das 2. Paddle kann vom Grundgerät gelößt werden. Über den oberen Drehregler können die vier Spiele eingestellt werden. Neben einem Ein- und Ausschalter gibt es eine separate Taste für den Balleinwurf, sowie eine weitere, um den Spielstand auf 0:0 zurückzustellen. Über vier zusätzliche Kippschalter lassen sich folgende Funktionen einstellen:

• Ballgeschwindigkeit schnell / langsam
• Spielfiguren klein / gross
• Flugbahn 20° / 40°
• Balleinwurf manuell / automatisch
